Vilikia Dyer The Purple Queen

Bio

Vilikia Dyer (Va-le-ka) was born Vitinia Vilikia Forbes on September 11, 1984 in Nassau, Bahamas. The oldest of three children, she grew up in a single parent home raised by her mother Patricia Harris.
Vilikia began her singing ministry at the age of 8. At the age of 14, Vilikia began to write her own lyrics.  At 16, Vilikia took on the challenge of singing in a gospel talent show for the first time.  The experience was exhilarating, to use her own words, "it was an exciting experience for me because I've never participated in a talent show before; I had fun and I thank God for the experience.”

Vilikia has been preparing and traveling down this inspirational music road ever since her grandmother Mary Toote heard and recognized her vocal gift. CeCe Winans influenced her singing style along with her own unique style. "My music is a style of music that ministers to the heart of listeners, and allows a one on one connection with God. It's a connection that only comes through worship, not just the singing of songs and the lifting of hands, but it's a lifestyle. Worship is what I do it is who I am, that is where my heart is. Worship allows me to express who God is to me, and I would like people to experience this as well". The influence that her mother Patricia had provided has enabled Vilikia to pursue a Christian
music career. "I truly thank God for my mom, she's always been supportive and I love her dearly."

Vilikia has sung at conferences, outreach services, etc. Vilikia was blessed married her husband DeLando in 2004. In 2005, Vilikia released her first album "Always There". She wrote and produced all of the songs on that album. Vilikia just released her sophomore album "I Reverence You". She wrote, played, and produced all of the songs on that album. Vilikia double CDs “Love is” and “Armor of God” was released March 22, 2011. On April 30, 211 Vilikia was nominated for Best Female Hip Hop Award at the 5th annual Urban Inspirational Awards.

Vilikia earned her A.S Degree in Music Production Technology from Gulf Coast Community College in 2011. She has returned back to Gulf Coast State College completing her A.S Degree in Digital Media/Multimedia Technology and hope to obtain her B.A Degree as well.

Vilikia ministers, produce, publish, and manufacture her projects independently. "Singing is the gift God gave me and my calling and my dream is to travel all around the world spreading the truth of the gospel; spreading the goodness of God leading the people to worship God in spirit and in truth. And I know that I can do all things through Christ which gives me strength". This is just the beginning of what God wants to do in developing this young up coming Gospel Artist.
